The main Opposition United Workers Party has only now been furnished with the 2014 issue of the “Review of the Economy” by the Dr. Kenny Anthony administration.
We are inclined to believe that the SLP Government deliberately withheld the “2014 Review of the Economy” from Opposition Parliamentarians which would have provided a basis for debate in the House of Assembly this week.
At yesterday’s press conference, the main Opposition revealed that its MPs did not have the benefit of the scientific review of the Government’s performance over the past fiscal year 2014/2015.
One opposition MP even spotted a Government MP perusing the document at Wednesday’s sitting while the members of the Opposition were deprived of copies of this crucial report.
A mere 24 hours after the UWP press conference, copies of the 2014 Review of the Economy miraculously surfaced and were delivered to the office of the Leader of the Opposition for circulation to Opposition MPs.
The UWP thinks that this is no coincidence but it reinforces the notion that this Labour government continues to treat the people of Saint Lucia with disdain and gross disrespect.
However, we are encouraged by the fact that Saint Lucians can see right through the deceit of the Labour Party and are ready to embrace the inevitable change that will come at the next general election.
