PRESS RELEASE - Club GAR launched its WALK 4 A CAUSE 2015 on Thursday 30th April at The Shooting Range in Bois D’Orange. WALK 4 A CAUSE is an annual charitable event hosted by Club GAR, to benefit the youth of St. Lucia.
This year’s cause is the World Pediatric Project (WPP) a charitable cause that provides critical health care to children who would not otherwise be able to afford or access it.
From the initiation of the partnership with the Ministry of Health in 2002, WPP has performed 376 evaluations of needy St. Lucians and has performed 19 life changing surgical interventions.
Walk 4 a Cause 2014 raised $15,000.00 for the Cadet Corps and was well received by the general public, who supported the fund raising raffle and the walk with over 450 walkers over the 4 mile route.
This year Club GAR has set itself a minimum target of $25,000.00 to be raised and donated to WPP. The Walk will start at 6:30 am on May 31st at the Vigie roundabout and end at The Shooting Range at Bois D’Orange.
The entry fee for the Walk is $20.00 per person, with special rates for groups of 10 or more persons. This year’s raffle prizes include a Just 4 Fun Carnival Costume and an Alcatel Smart Phone.
The primary sponsors for this year’s Walk are LIME, 1st National Bank, and Pinehill. The other key sponsors are FICS, Dominos Pizza, WLBL, Guardsman, and St.Lucia IFC.
