The dry spell currently being experienced in Saint Lucia will continue into August, 2015.
This is according to predictions made by the Saint Lucia Meteorological Services Limited.
The island recorded a rainfall deficit between January and June last year, while rainfall between January and February this year remains normal.
However, the forecast for July and August is for below normal.
The Water Resource Management Agency has observed a general decline in river flow rates, while the Water and Sewerage Company (WASCO) said the water stored at the John Compton Dam is well below average.
Areas worst affected by the water shortage are Mon Repos and Dennery.
