LIME and the Marian Home enjoy a long history of collaboration.

LIME has been a loyal supporter of the Marian Home and its annual fund-raising Poverty Meal for many years.

This weekend, as the Marian Home gets set to host another meal, LIME is providing major support to the event once again to help make it a success.

Some 1,500 patrons are expected at this year’s Poverty Meal on Sunday, March 16 at the Mount of Prayer, Coubaril. Diners will be served a bowl of soup, a bread roll and a glass of water by volunteers from Sir Arthur Lewis Community College.

In addition to supporting the meal itself, LIME provided the Marian Home with free landline service from January to March, and has contributed an Alcatel T’Pop 41010A Android phone as a door prize for the event which, among other things, will feature entertainment by Magic Circle and the Saint Lucia School of Music.

There will be lots of other exciting door prizes available, including dinner at Landings Resort Saint Lucia and a weekend stay at Anse Chastanet. For more information, the public is asked to call 451-9143.

The Poverty Meal was initiated 26 years ago by former Archbishop Emeritus, now Cardinal Kelvin Felix.

“We sincerely thank LIME for continuing to support our Poverty Meal and for all the assistance they have given to the Marian Home over the years,” said Sr. Jeanillia O’Garro O. Carm, administrator of the Marian Home. “Their contribution is much appreciated and will go a long way in making the event a success,” she added.

Geraldine Pitt, CEO LIME Southern Cluster, said “LIME is proud to be associated with the Corpus Christi Carmelite Sisters and to continue our support for the Poverty Meal. We believe it’s our duty to assist the elderly citizens of Saint Lucia, especially in light of the increase in the cost of living and other challenges. As a responsible and caring corporate citizen, it is an enduring part of our mission, which is to reach out to the communities and make people’s lives better.”

Over the years LIME has provided the Marian Home with varied forms of assistance in support of its mission to provide Saint Lucia’s elderly citizens with a life of comfort, loving care and dignity. Other senior citizens homes in Saint Lucia have also received support from LIME, including the St. Lucy’s Home, Comfort Bay and Villa St. Joseph.

Every year LIME gives back to the communities through simple acts of kindness, such as providing meals and other treats to the poor and the homeless.
