PRESS RELEASE – A Team from the Water & Sewerage Company Incorporated (WASCO Inc.) led by Chairman, Mr. Francis Denbow met with Shop Stewards and officials from the National Workers Union (NWU) Wednesday February 1, 2017.
The parties met to discuss progress made at negotiations and outstanding matters to be resolved.
It was agreed that all adjustments to workers salaries would be made effective from February 1, 2017. A schedule for meeting outstanding retroactive payments will be submitted shortly to the NWU. This proposal will be in-keeping with the entities cash flow position.
WASCO and the NWU also recognize the fact that overtime must be effectively managed and in all cases that component of their operations must be authorized.
A Joint Technical Committee has been established to deal with all anomalies and prepare for the new industrial agreement between WASCO and the NWU.
